I want to welcome all of you back for another exciting season of Little League Baseball. This season promises to be the most exciting season we have ever had. April 18th will mark a new day and the beginning of a new era for us. We have been through many great things over the years and many bad as well. This season we will begin with a ceremony that will be remembered for years to come, this season will be started unlike any before. We will open on Calhoun Field, With our new lighting system in operation. This system was labor of love for the many people who were responsible for making a dream a reality. We will have our normal opening and the very first game played at night for Painesville Little League. This will be the first time in history we have done this. We at the league are very excited about this and look forward to welcoming all of you to the ceremony and hope you will stay for the night game. We will have a host of invited guests that will speak and families who will be here to witness this historical event. I ask all who enter the park and games to remember that we are a totally volunteer organization, it is with the volunteers that we have that makes this league so special, the folks involved have a true love for the game, the park and everything we stand for. The umpires for us also volunteer their time for your children, please be kind to them, respect them for they have given of their time and resources to make a commitment to this league by attending training and classes to keep up on the constant rule changes year after year. We operate this league on the donations from area business's and fund raisers that we conduct, remember those companies when you see them and be sure to thank them as with out them the league would surely not exist. We are planning night games on a regular basis so that all the teams will get the chance to play at night and to experience the feel of a night game. We are continually working to improve the fields and areas to keep this a first class park for you children to play in and for them build memories that will last a life time. I ask all of you involved to keep these things in mind as come to your sons or daughters games, do not criticize the volunteers or the park if you have not gotten involved to make it a better place.
I want to thank everyone who has given of their time, resources, labor, material and most importantly their gift of financial backing to keep this league what you come to expect of it. I give you all my personal promise that we will strive to keep this league the front runner in organized youth sports programs and always welcome your comments or concerns.
See you at the opener!
