Challenger Division

The Painesville Area Little League introduced the Challenger Division baseball to its program in 2011. The Challenger Division offers boys and girls with physical and mental disabilities the opportunity to play organized baseball. The program is open to children and young adults from ages 5 to 22, regardless of the nature of their disability. For players that require special assistance, "buddies” are permitted to accompany them on the field. The Challenger Division is a non-competitive league, meaning no official score is kept. Thanks to donations of time and resources from several generous donors, Field 6 at Kiwanis Recreation Park has been renovated to accommodate this program. The field, dugouts, and entry ways are wheelchair-friendly.
The Challenger season is scheduled to begin In May and will conclude on or about August 30th. Games will be played each Saturday at 1 PM, lasting approximately 90 minutes. For more information about playing, sponsoring, or volunteering for a Challenger team, contact Commissioner Clifford Mills at acemills2010@gmail.com .
